Marriage

Genesis 2:24
For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.

The other day i attended a marriage ceremony after a really long time. And after being a part of the ceremony and celebrations i realized what i had missed on for so long. The priest who preached the sermon narrated true life incidents in such humour that the entire crowd in the church just burst into laughter at times. He did stress on the importance of God & Prayer in a successful married life.

One of the humorous jokes which i had heard before but nonetheless brought a smile went something like this:

A married couple had an argument some days back and they hadn't been talking to each other since then. However, they were giving each other written notes. One evening the husband gave his wife a paper where it said: "Wake me up tomorrow morning at 7 am.” The next morning the husband woke up and saw that it was 9 am. He got very angry, but as he turned around he found a note on his pillow saying: "Wake up honey, it's 7 o'clock!"

Also after going to the hall the compere out there also had some advice for the husband. He said if you want to have a successful married life, honestly accept when you are in the wrong to your wife. And when you are right............. just stay quiet.

It's really wonderful being part of such a wonderful ceremony...The vows which the husband & wife take in the church wherein the groom says: I (...), take you (...) to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life. And the bride responds by saying: I (...), take you (...) to be my husband. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life.

Marriage is really one of the most wonderful events in a person's life. Someone has rightly gone on to say that "Remember that a successful marriage depends on two things: Finding the right person and being the right person". Love between couples is definitely important; however i feel a happy married life surely calls for a lot of commitment and concern for each other.

So what do you guys feel?

Good one, Cedric! I liked this line: "Remember that a successful marriage depends on two things: Finding the right person and being the right person".
